It's really amazing to see how I've grown in photography over the years. I don't do it religiously, but with guidance from Chris and a lot of practice, I can look at my old pictures and the more recent ones and see progress.
Lately, I've been doing a lot of Instragram on the iPhone. It's got a really old feel to it with the square frame and the different colors to choose from. I invite anyone to check it out. It's all fun stuff and I follow a few really good artists. My username is tkmlac (of course, like I have another).
Also, lately I've been feeling the pull back to the spiral notepad, the pen and riding the waves of feeling until they spill out on paper, so expect more for the poetry section from me. I've moved away from rhyming so much and am concentrating on stringing sounds together and moving with a rhythm. I'm starting to appreciate more the Mayas, Ezras and even William Carloses of the world. It's eye-opening. We'll see what comes of it. So far, I'm most proud of "Flame" and hope I can continue on that same thread.
Chris is getting back into using the antique cameras. We're waiting on an at-home B&W developer kit because we're running out of places to develop specialty film these days. Expect more from maybe the Lubitel and definitely the Land Camera as we start using the classics again.
Chris and I were married on June 18th, 2011, five years from our first kiss. It was the most romantic day of my life. Since then, things and people that bothered me or mattered too much don't seem to matter anymore. I'm sad about some taking themselves too far and too seriously, burning bridges rather than admit what they're feeling, but it doesn't even matter if they are around anymore. I have a whole new life now, a new direction, a new purpose. Everything else is just baggage.
So that's what's been going on with me lately. Hope everyone in the US has a safe and happy holiday today. Everyone else, please go about your business as it's just July 4th to you. Peace out.
